Everything is
bright and clean and shiny.
Color-coordinated
alphabetized
sorted by size.
Not a speck of dust
not a hint of gray
not the smallest tear.
All is vibrant and new
fresh from plastic wrappings
disinfected, already inspected
nothing is old and nothing is dull
No mistakes
no deviation from the plan
All is so beautiful, clean, and right
nothing torn
Everything bright.

The author's comments:
People place too much value on material things and on living the perfect, shiny life. When we strive to be beautiful for society we forget to be beautiful for ourselves, which may not be the same as what everyone thinks beauty is.
